So here we are, my first ever blog entry on my first ever website. It's been a long road to get here and something I've been toying with for years, but it feels great.

I'm so excited to be able to do this now, I've always loved cooking and it would have been great to have made it a bigger part of my life sooner. Not that I wish I'd done it professionally or anything like that, it just sounds way to hard as a job.

The last year really brought back my focus on my cooking. Experimenting a bit more in the kitchen and a trip down for a course at River Cottage just ignited a desire to take what was really just a hobby to a whole new level. Before I knew it I had a load of recipes all written down and even more ideas flying around in my head. So why not combine a career working with technology with a love of cooking and creating recipes? And so we come full circle and are back here again writing up my first and potentially biggest food adventure.

So when putting things together for the site there are just a few things I want to make sure I keep at the front of my mind. A set of guidelines if you will.

1 Keep the recipes easy to use - no massive stories with a tiny recipe hidden right at the bottom. I find that really annoying in some sites and stories are what blogs are for.

2 Keep the recipes achievable - we don't all have time to scour half a dozen shops for ingredients or plan far enough in advance to order specialist things on the internet. I don't even have an independent grocer or fishmonger in my town so I want to make sure they can all be done by anyone.

3 Use ingredients multiple times - I've often looked in my cupboard and found a random jar of something I'd needed 1 tsp of a month ago and have nothing else to use it for. I want to make sure that if a recipe I create uses something there is another recipe that uses the same thing in a different way

The last thing left to say is thank you for taking the time to visit. I hope you give some of the recipes a go and love them or hate them they help fire up your own interest in cooking. That can only be a good thing

Cheers
